Welcome to the World Creation Society. Cyberpolitik is your weekly dose of antidisciplinary maxims and reflections on emerging futures at the intersection of technology, society, and culture.
On Societal Oneness, Sacrificial Unity, & Consolidated Retardation
To separate yourself from society is false. You are society.
Seek to sway the pendulum of mediocrity to an extreme to nudge it in the right direction.
Solidarity and unity can prove to be more burdensome than the rewards they may produce. They come at the sacrifice of freedom and independence which we have always sought—only to turn us into the mob we have always feared.
Society has forgotten that innovation comes from the fruits of real education over credentialism, and the economy relies entirely on innovation to drive us forward.
We get educated to be fearful, but not educated to be free. We get educated to suppress our uniqueness, but not educated to express our uniqueness. We get educated to carry the traditions of the dead, but not educated to carry the traditions of the future.
The more consolation we offer to others, the more retardation we deliver to the world. Give people a challenge, disturb them from their lull, wake them up—they’ll hate you for it—and a few are forever marked as to steer their life in a new direction.
On Ideal Tunes, Idea Promiscuity, & Idea Worship
Intellect is the pursuit of idea promiscuity—thinking, unthinking, and rethinking.
Only three things we can do to ideas as we do to our lovers: cherish them, suffer from them, or turn them into art.
Worshiping misguided ideas only brings violence to our lives.
Imagination must exceed our abilities, so we are dragged across the mud—ever closer to our ideals.
Intelligence is understanding our stupidity; to dress it up with fancy titles does not make us more intelligent, but draws us to a higher degree of stupidity.
On Bolder Work, Unfertilized Gardens, & Machinic Efficiency
To work smarter and faster, one must work bolder.
The perpetual quest for efficiency is a machine’s role; to pursue efficiency at all cost is to become a machine.
Freelancing is the decision between having one master or many.
To recognize information does not equate to mastering it.
Knowledge is an infinite endeavour for those who know no bounds.
On Political Asterisks, Illiterate Leisure, & Others’ Eyes
Politics is discourse with an asterisk at the end of every sentence.
In a world mired in illiterate leisure, we believe we have made the wrong decision, but if we carry on long enough, it becomes clear it was the right decision; uncertainty only delays this eventuality.
Measuring ourselves in others’ eyes, considering our worth in others’ eyes, basing our livelihood in others’ eyes, forces us to others’ knees.
People’s behaviours revolve around never missing an opportunity to miss an opportunity.
To carry out exceptional feats, be different, or cease to be.
